What an affiliate link is

A few links on this site — to no-win-no-fee claims services such as Compensair and AirHelp — are affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to use that service, we may be paid a commission by them. It costs you nothing extra: the fee the service charges is exactly the same whether you arrive through this site or type their address in yourself.

Why it does not bend the advice

Every page here tells you how to claim directly from the airline for free, and to use the free national enforcement body if the airline refuses. That is the better route on a straightforward claim, and saying so plainly costs us money — a reader who claims themselves earns us nothing. We say it anyway because it is true. A claims service is worth considering only when a case is genuinely contested, the airline has gone quiet, or you would simply rather not handle the admin.

What we are not

We are not a claims management company, we are not lawyers, and we do not handle your claim or take a percentage of it. This site is independent reference information about Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 and its retained UK equivalent. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" and open in a new tab, so you always know which is which.

If you would rather not use one

You never have to. Everything you need to claim without paying anyone a percentage is on this site, and every figure is drawn from the primary law collected on our official sources page.
